REPORTING & APPEALS

Why was my account banned?

keyboard_arrow_down

If your account has been banned from Gush, it means activity associated with your account violated our Terms of Use or other policies. We take these violations very seriously to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users.

Can You Tell Me Why I Was Banned?

In some cases, banned users will be provided with a reason for their ban. This reason will appear immediately following the ban notification in an in-app message.

However, in many cases, we do not disclose the specific reasons for a ban. While we understand that this may be frustrating, please note that bans can result from various factors, including:

  • Reports from other users.
  • Reviews conducted by our moderation team.
  • Automated detection of suspicious or prohibited activities.

We keep these details private to protect the anonymity of users who may have reported you and to maintain the safety and integrity of the Gush community.

Reasons for Ban

Some common reasons for account bans include:

  1. Fake or Inauthentic Profiles: If your profile is determined to be fake or misleading.
  2. Inappropriate Behavior: Reports of disrespectful or inappropriate actions, such as harassment or offensive language.
  3. Suspicious or Prohibited Activity: Any activity that contradicts our guidelines, such as spamming or fraudulent actions.
  4. Violation of Policies: Breaching our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, or other community standards.

Who Makes the Final Decision?

Our moderation team consists of trained Gush staff members from diverse backgrounds and experiences. They carefully review reports and ensure that all decisions are fair and unbiased.

What Happens After a Ban?

  • You will not be able to create a new Gush account.
  • Ban reasons will not be disclosed further, and they are not included in data export requests.

If you believe your account was banned in error, you may contact our support team at support@gushdate.com to request a review. Please include your account details and any relevant information.

Consequences for False Reporting

keyboard_arrow_down

At Gush, we are deeply committed to ensuring the safety and authenticity of our community. Your privacy and security are our top priorities, and the reporting feature in the Gush app is a critical tool to help us maintain a respectful and trustworthy environment.
Submitting a report is a serious action. Each report is carefully reviewed as part of our moderation and safety protocols. Reports are confidential, and we will not disclose your identity or the contents of your report to protect your privacy and safety.
We trust our users to report behavior that violates our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. However, the specific actions outlined below are intolerable and will result in the closure of the account of anyone who deliberately submits a false report.

Actions That Violate Our Policies

  1. Deliberate False Reports:
If you are not interested in a profile or the person displayed in it, you should remove them instead of reporting them. Submitting a false report wastes the time and resources of our moderation and safety teams, taking attention away from critical work to ensure the safety of the Gush community.
  2. Discriminatory Reporting:
Reporting someone for discriminatory reasons—such as their (actual or perceived) gender identity, gender expression, race, color, religion, or disability—will result in an immediate ban from the platform.
  3. Harassment and Misuse of Reporting Features:
As stated in our Terms of Use, users may not harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, defame, or mistreat any individual, including through the misuse of the reporting feature.

Consequences for Misuse

  • Submitting false or baseless reports may result in a warning or ban on your account.
  • Gush has a zero-tolerance policy for discriminatory behavior, which will lead to permanent removal from the platform.

We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and inclusive space for meaningful connections. Please use the reporting feature responsibly to help us achieve this goal.
