When users sign up for Gush and complete their profiles, they also specify the traits they’re looking for in a partner. The app then automatically begins searching for potential matches based on the set preferences and priorities. The goal is to introduce users to others who are most aligned with their characteristics and preferences.
Once a suitable match is found, the app introduces the person to the user, but without showing their profile or photo. Instead, only a name and a blurred image are shown. This stage is called "pairing." In the same way, the app also introduces the user to the other person, again without revealing their profile or photo, just a name and a blurred image.
If both users agree to proceed and are interested in talking, they enter a blind date session without seeing each other’s photos or profiles. They are only shown a name and a blurred image. During this 6-minute conversation, facilitated by artificial intelligence, they engage in voice communication.
At the end of the 6-minute session, if both users are satisfied with the conversation and would like to continue getting to know each other, they can each tap the thumbs-up button. If both users confirm this, they "match" with each other. They then enter a new page where they can see each other's clear photos and profile details. From this point onward, they can chat without restrictions and even arrange a real-life meeting if they wish.
Initially, the app pairs users based on their shared characteristics and preferences, such as the minimum geographical distance. After pairing, the users enter the blind date session. If both users give a thumbs-up at the end of the conversation, they "match," and they can now see each other’s full profiles and photos.
After matching, if at any point one or both users no longer wish to continue their interaction, they can each un-match the other by tapping the un-match button. This removes the user from each other's contacts, deleting all profile information and chat options.
Gush’s algorithm continuously and intelligently searches for the best potential matches and pairings for users, ensuring that they are always introduced to the most compatible options.
